That's what the sunbeams of my new artwork "Breakthrough" seem to me as they're making their way powerfully through the clouds: stubborn & rebellious.

Being stubborn as a good thing in tough times. Maybe flexibly stubborn, but stubborn nonetheless. No rotten compromise, no making yourself small, no listening to those who always knew it wouldn't work. Being yourself. Believing. Hoping. Breathing.

And then the breakthrough. Maybe rather breakthroughs. There will likely be so many small breakthroughs, we almost miss them. Do we see a single sunbeam? Unlikely. And wouldn't that mean that we also need to take a step back and look at the big picture to see our breakthroughs?

Maybe later, looking at photos. Have you noticed how sometimes we only see that a moment was a real game changer after some time has passed?

This is me encouraging you to take more photos. Maybe you don't see it yet, but some day you'll say: Wow! That was my breakthrough!

I think celebrating later is just as good.

The smallest piece in the series with the title "New Dawn" is also centered around the sun as a symbol for breakthroughs and hope.

It is calm and tidy and radiates a certain assurance and assertiveness despite - or maybe because of - its childlike symbolism.

Maybe that's what I find so fascinating about this artwork and what makes for a great finish:

Coming home to a childlike belief. Being completely convinced of something as we were as children. I find that very desirable and a great treasure. A new dawn.
